Growing Learning
Growing Schools
My journey began when I decided to pursue my undergraduate degree in the UK and USA in International Tourism Management.
Background
I was born and raised in Romania and have always been highly ambitious and eager to travel the world. My journey began when I decided to pursue my undergraduate degree in the UK and USA in International Tourism Management. During my undergraduate programme, I decided to combine my tourism studies with my pleasure for travel by exploring the education and social care system in Morocco and The Philippines. To apply the theory, I learnt as a student, I took on a one-year Management Trainee Programme with Rhubarb, a food company based at the Sky Garden in London. I had the opportunity to experience the different departments within the company and gain valuable insights into the dynamics of the business environment. During this time, I discovered my interest in sustainable financial practices, and throughout my final year at university, incorporated this further into my related academic projects. My project mentor recognised my natural flair for finance and encouraged me to do an internship at the International Schools Partnership (ISP). I am currently studying a master’s degree at King`s College London and I am looking to become a Student Ambassador to support students, give advice and contribute to their transformation into the business professionals of tomorrow.

developMENT
My professional goal is to contribute to the development of traditional financial practices, moving forward from the focus on profit only, as a key performance indicator, by integrating a deeper consideration of society and environment. My internship has been the first step towards my career goal, with the help of the inspiring colleagues I had the opportunity to meet and learn from. As a finance intern, I became more confident in analysing the operations of the company and I improved my numerical and analytical skills as well as acquired a high level of strategic and economic thinking. Not only did my internship provide me with a better understanding of the business world, but also inspired me to choose a master’s degree in Corporate Finance at King’s College London. Since my initial internship I have returned to work part time at ISP as a Finance Analyst.
I AM AMAZING
Nothing teaches you more than stepping outside of your comfort zone. After living abroad for five years, visiting almost 40 countries, studying in three countries and collaborating with countless cultures, I find myself a broad-minded, confident and patient individual. I travel to countries around the world out of my desire to meet people and learn from different types of people. Even though academic achievements are important to me, what has had the most impact on me as a person are the experiences I have had as a student – all of the classmates, teachers and professional colleagues I have met have contributed to shaping the considerate, creative and optimistic individual I am today.
