Beejal Parekh
Group International Opportunities Project Manager
Beejal grew up in the United Kingdom and lives in Barcelona. She holds a BA in Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge in the UK and an MSc in Environmental Sciences from the Centre for Alternative Technology.
Beejal started her career in the environmental sector, where her experience of outreach work led her to environmental education. She has worked in education for over 10 years, in the public sector, for charities and with commercial clients. She developed and delivered STEM competitions, grants, award schemes and events at the British Science Association, and led education policy and research programmes around teacher recruitment and retention at the Greater London Authority. Beejal loves the challenge of translating complex subjects for different audiences in an interesting and engaging way and has created resources on topics ranging from genetics to machine learning.
Beejal is passionate about the power of outdoor education. She is a trained Forest School practitioner and was a volunteer leader for Woodcraft Folk for several years.
When she’s not at work, you can find her hiking, painting or attempting to make pottery.
