Carla Butterfield

Regional Head of Marketing & Communication – Southeast Asia

Since graduating from Sussex University in the UK with a BA in English Literature 15 years ago, Carla has been living and breathing Marketing, PR and Communications across a wide spectrum of industries, both Agency and Client side.  During this time, Carla has strengthened her business and commercial acumen skills, building mutually beneficial working relationships, and securing industry awards.

Carla moved to Southeast Asia with her family four years ago and has since focused her expertise in the much more rewarding sector of Education.  Prior to joining International Schools Partnership as Head of Marketing & Communications – Southeast Asia, Carla was making an impact in roles such as Group Head of Marketing for The British Schools Foundation (BSF) where she redefined the marketing function and led pioneering projects to fuel bespoke school partnerships and produce positively disruptive video content.

Carla loves learning and encourages efficient, productive, and inspiring ways of working.  She feels that school marketing is a whole school responsibility, and that by unearthing golden nuggets of insight and working smarter (not harder) schools can provide a seamless and rewarding end to end learning experience encouraging advocates to effortlessly support marketing initiatives.

Outside of work, Carla is a lead member of the committee who brought parkrun to Malaysia and spends her free time supporting parkrun’s global mission to make the world a happier and healthier planet by providing communities with free organised timed 5km walk, jogs and runs in local parks every Saturday morning.
