Emily Porter
Group Chief Education and Innovation Officer
Emily has worked in education for over 20 years. She grew up on the East Coast of the United States of America, has lived in Granada, Buenos Aires and London, and is fluent in English and Spanish. She holds an MA in Instructional Design and Secondary Education from the University of Maryland. After a decade dedicated to teaching, advising and observing middle school students, Emily co-designed the well-known International Middle Years Curriculum and was instrumental in the early years of its success. By keeping student development at the centre of everything she does, Emily is committed to improving learning for students and teachers. She has developed and delivered professional development to teachers, heads and school leaders all over the world. She is experienced in community building within and across educational sectors, and her passion for learning keeps her apprised of the changes in education and the needs of learners.
Before joining International Schools Partnership (ISP) in October 2018, Emily served as the Vice President of Consulting Services for the National Association of Independent Schools in Washington DC. When she’s not creating and learning at work, you can find her practicing yoga, rock climbing, pretending to be a T-Rex and having adventures with her daughters and husband.
