Graham Gisby

Headmaster, St. George’s College

Graham was born and grew up in the English town of Dover. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Leicester in Chemistry and then went on to complete a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the City University, London. He obtained his PGCSE at the University of London.

Graham has spent the vast majority of his career in leadership roles within Peruvian schools, in addition to a four-year stint in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is passionate about bringing technology into the classroom, in all of his schools, teaching staff and students learnt how to integrate this valuable tool into their classes to bring about student-centered learning. As a consultant to the Peruvian government, he was responsible for bringing the IB Diploma Programme into the novel national educational programme for exceptional students in a school that catered for those who could not afford an appropriate education.

He is bilingual in Spanish and English, also having lectured Biblical Greek in two institutions. He has given television and radio interviews concerning education, has written several articles for national journals and has presented at a local university on how to teach maths through music. Being an accomplished flautist and saxophonist (soprano) he is also a registered Peruvian composer with an extensive range of compositions. Many performed in previous schools and one by the Lima Symphony Orchestra. You can hear them on Graham’s soundcloud channel!

In his ever-dwindling spare time, he loves to run the streets of Lima, cook exotic dishes growing his own fruit, vegetables and particularly chili peppers in his garden.
