Johana was born and raised in Costa Rica and has been based in the UK since 2012, making her fluent in both English and Spanish. She holds a BA in Business and Accounting from the National University of Costa Rica and an MA in Project Management from UCI. Johana is passionate about learning and believes that education should be a lifelong pursuit.
While pursuing her education, Johana worked full-time for a company offering technological solutions for private schools in Costa Rica. She later spent a few years teaching English and working as a linguist specialising in English-Spanish translation. She was subsequently offered a position in hospitality and spent six years managing a luxury hotel in the middle of the Costa Rican rainforest, where plentiful exposure to other cultures inspired her to further her education abroad. After earning an MBA from Cardiff University, she managed a spa in London and undertook business consultancy work for small businesses and start-ups.
Johana joined the International Schools Partnership (ISP) as a researcher in January 2020 and is now helping the Investment Team develop projects that increase the value proposition of ISP schools. She recently pursued her own amazing learning experience in the form of learning to ski – something she never thought she would do growing up in a tropical country!
In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities including hiking and cycling around West London. One of her favourite things to do is to travel and get to know people from different parts of the world.
