Patricia Ayala de Coronel
Head of School – Liceo Panamericano Campus Samborondón and Panamericano
Patricia began her career in education at the age of 17 – teaching English for 10 years. She was the Principal of Colegio Americano de Guayaquil for 25 years, and a professor at Brookdale Community College, Blue Hill College and Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil in Ecuador.
Patricia earned her BA in Linguistics from the University of Guayaquil, a Doctorate in Educational Research and Planning from the University of Loja, Ecuador, a Master’s in Family Educational Counseling from the Institute of Villanueva in Spain, and a Master’s in Human Talent Management, awarded by Universidad de Especialidades Espiritu Santo.
In 2013, she was awarded Muy Ilustre Municipalidad de Guayaquil on International Women’s Day, by FEDEPAL, for her exceptional work as a teacher and in the field of education. In addition, she was declared an illustrious citizen in 2015, by Casa de la Cultura del Guayas.
In 2015, Patricia became principal of Liceo Panamericano. Her educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn if provided with a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leaders, a focused and committed educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family. Her aim since becoming an educator has been to strengthen bilingualism and implement several pedagogical innovation projects.
Patricia is an active member of the International Rotary Club, and recently received the Paul Harris Fellow Award for the work carried out for the benefit of mutual understanding and positive relationships between people all over the world.
