Born and raised in upstate New York, Rebecca’s journey in education began as a literacy coach and English teacher, leading initiatives to support academic success among underserved populations. Her dedication to supporting student learning continued as she moved to California and joined Fairmont Schools. There, Rebecca’s ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues alike became evident as she assumed progressive leadership roles. As an administrator, her dedication to inquiry and concept-based learning led her to champion the adoption of the IB Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme. Under her leadership, Fairmont attained IB World School status and consistently ranks among the top public and private IB Schools in the US.
Rebecca’s expertise in curriculum development and instructional design has been recognized nationally, earning her invitations to present at educational conferences and contributing to influential publications in the field. She is recognized as a member of the prestigious IB Educator Network and supports schools nationally and internationally as an IB workshop leader, course reader, and site visitor.
Outside of her professional life, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, and traveling.
