Rhian Cross
Head of School – Laude British School of Vila-Real
Rhian grew up in the United Kingdom and Bolivia and is now permanently lives in Spain. She holds a BA in Languages and Politics and is bilingual speaking both Spanish and English. She has worked in education for nearly 30 years, starting as a teacher in the UK and then becoming a Head of Department and an Advanced Skills Teacher. Rhian particularly enjoyed working across the local authority in her role as Advanced Skills Teacher and supporting and coaching teachers across many different Secondary and Primary schools. It gave her a real insight into how different schools work and how to support teachers within different working environments and through different challenges. During this period, she also taught languages in various different Primary schools.
During the 13 years that Rhian has lived in Spain, she has always worked at the Laude British School of Vila-real. She began as a teacher and then set up the Sixth Form for the school. She is particularly proud of this accomplishment, and seeing the students graduate and follow their future pathways gives her a true sense of achievement. From Head of Sixth Form Rhian became Deputy Head of the school which broadened the scope of her remit. After two years as Deputy Head, Rhian then became the Head teacher of the Laude British School of Vila-real in January 2020, a new challenge she is delighted to take up.
Rhian enjoys walking, climbing, Via Ferratas and generally being outdoors in the mountains.
