Regional Director of Learning – USA
Sarah grew up in South Africa before moving to the UK in her early twenties where she learned to teach secondary English to students in inner city London schools. After several years, Sarah decided to broaden her horizons and moved overseas to be the founding learning leader of two international schools, the first in Egypt and the second in Qatar. Through her experiences in these schools she learned the value of cultural competence and the joy of working with colleagues and students from across the globe. She then moved to Shanghai, China to work in collaboration with colleagues to lead the design and implementation of an internationally blended bilingual curriculum. After the successful opening of the school as an IB World School, Sarah was promoted to Principal and led the school for three years whilst completing her master’s degree in International Education, from King’s College London.
Sarah joined International Schools Partnership in January 2019 as Regional Director of Learning, USA. She is enthusiastic about supporting schools making their learning better, by sharing her own experience, skills and knowledge of collaborating and learning from colleagues and students around the world. Sarah would like to continue to learn from the schools she works with and hopes that this will enable her to connect the schools with each other, to promote new and exciting learning experiences for the staff, students and families of the schools she supports.
Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, playing golf, reading and traveling to new places around the world.
