Regional Director of Learning – Southeast Asia
Susana was born in Angola and as a young child moved with her family to South Africa to complete her schooling. Susana always knew she wanted to be a teacher and work with children. She graduated as a Secondary Science and Mathematics teacher from the University of Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg and holds a M.Ed. in Leadership and Management from the Open University, UK. Susana speaks Portuguese and English and has been a teacher, teacher trainer and educational leader for over 30 years. She has taught in South Africa and Portugal, was Head of CLIC in Marinha Grande, Portugal and Director of Professional Development and Head of Middle School at CLIP, Porto, Portugal, where she pioneered the Learning through Research programme that contributed to making CLIP the school of choice in the region.
In 2014 she joined her husband in Karachi, as Director of Curriculum and Professional Growth and Development, at Links School, where she worked closely with teachers across three campuses (K-16) to help improve student learning in classrooms. Susana joined Tenby Schools Malaysia in January 2017 as Manager of Academic Support and became the ISP Regional Director of Learning for Southeast Asia in April 2018, when the Group joined International Schools Partnership (ISP). Susana is enthusiastic about working collaboratively with school leaders and teachers to create opportunities inside and outside of the classrooms for students to experience amazing learning.
Susana enjoys walking, especially along the beach, swimming, travelling, reading, cooking, strong coffee, and spending time with her family.
