Anne Stevens

Head of School, Laude Palacio de Granda

Anne was born in Mexico, where she attended an English school before moving to boarding school in the UK when she was eleven.  She travelled during her holidays to live in various countries with her parents, including Turkey, Austria, Kenya and Chile.  Anne read Geography at Durham University (BA Hons) and Education at Cambridge University (PGCE) in the UK.  She started teaching Geography to Secondary and Sixth Form students, adding IT, PSHE and Critical Thinking during her career. She has published text books for Geography for KS3 and GCSE. Anne has taught in independent schools in Hertfordshire and North London gradually taking on more responsibilities from Head of Department to Head of a 3-18 school. She gained her National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) in 2007. Having always wanted to work abroad she was delighted to be appointed Head of Palacio de Granda in 2014. Anne has had the opportunity to travel extensively and lead many school trips. The most memorable being two world challenge expeditions, to Mexico and Peru. Spending four weeks with students, working in an orphanage in Mexico and a school in an Amazon village with no electricity were two amazing learning experiences – for pupils and adults alike. Anne is passionate about encouraging young people to try new experiences and opportunities.

In her spare time, Anne sings in a choral society, currently belonging to a prestigious Spanish choir that also travel nationally and internationally to take part in music festivals. She also enjoys crosswords, puzzles and travel.
